Whooooaaaa....Easy Now...

Another fun week in North Cack-a-lacky! Of course it was much of the same madness as last week, but it came to a screeching hault by Saturday. Most of the week was cool since my hero was in town. We took the monsters to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth." Not a bad flick. And of course when the movie got to it's most excitingly, scary part, Declan has to pee. My hero to rescue!! I love him, he's the best. Thanks honey. I know when the cool folks see The Dark Knight, (2hrs and 40 min) It'll be my turn.....Or will it??....
I am seriously considering writing more frequently, it's hard to keep on top of things these days. Mostly, the little quirky, comedic, and crazy things the monsters growl out from time to time. For instance, whenever my hero is in town, he's very supportive and attentive to the boys. It was almost 9:30am and Michael had gone into the boy's bedroom to make sure they were up and ready for the day. He goes in to find Declan still asleep. He sits on his bed and wakes him gently. Declan, with a foggy head and froggy voice says, "Good morning, Daddy." "Good morning, buddy, did you sleep okay?" "Yeah," he says matter of factly.
Michael then says, "Destry has gotten dressed, made his bed, and is now downstairs eating breakfast." And Declan replies, "Huh.......(long pause), and I'm up here enjoying my bed." Michael chuckles and encourages Declan to get on with his day. Some day, my little rise-and-shine self starter will rub off on my little hit-the-snooze-button sleepyhead. I believe it is the night when Declan is at his best. He sometimes has difficulty falling asleep and therefore is usually the last one out of bed. And it's at night when this next lil' story takes place.
As you may well know, (or not) Thing 2 (Declan) was born a through-knee amputee and wears a prosthesis. He does not know any different and continues to adjust well in any environment. One night I had told the boys to go upstairs and put on their pajamas. I follow them shortly after and hang out in my room for a bit. within a few minutes, I hear some noises, laughter, banging and thumping and whatever it is, it certainly didn't sound like getting ready for bed. The boys are obviously playing but I walk over to their room and I see Declan sitting on the floor in front of the door in no shirt, his underwear and a sock, with his prosthetic leg strategically placed between his legs and pointing straight at me yelling, "I'm Penis-Boy!!" Okay, what?? LOL I thought I had seen it all. Where does this kid come up with this stuff?
Last little story. We've finished dinner and settled down in front of the tv and I get up to get something out of the kitchen. I then notice that Declan left his half emptied cup of punch on the table. "Declan! Come get your cup you left on the table." He replies, "Oh, yeah, I'm just not thinking straight today. First I put out two cups instead of one for my lemonade, and then I almost poured my lemonade on my chicken patty!" He has himself a laugh. I have to admit, I did too.
Okay, so I lied. Something else just happened just as I was typing this blog. They are really killing me tonight.
Declan: Mom, can we go on 'Mini-Match'?
Mom: Uh, No.
Declan: Okay, that's not the right answer, so lets try it again.
Declan: Mom, can we go on 'Mini-Match'?
Mom: NO!
Declan: It's seems that you are not remembering your lines.
Declan: Mom, can we please go on 'Mini-Match'?
Destry: Maybe that's all she knows how to say, Declan.
Okay, so the monsters are scary AND funny. I hope this comes across as funny, cuz it sure seemed like it at the time. By the way, you can find your new super hero below. Penis-Boy at his best! Of course this is staged. I'm not gonna have my child in his tighty-whities on the web! But this is definitely close to it!

Gnite!
